Lay the wiring harness back over the engine, and reconnect everything you disconnected, starting on the driver’s side. Route the brake booster hose behind the engine wiring harness, and reconnect at booster. Reconnect the PCV line to the top of the manifold. Reinstall the EVAP solenoid into the bracket, and reconnect the EVAP line onto the top of the manifold. Reconnect the braided fuel line to the fuel rail, reinstall the metal lock. Do not go crazy torquing them down, or you will strip out the holes. Reinstall the 10 8mm bolts, in a star pattern, starting in the middle. Guide it gently in, it should be obvious when it is seated, but just make sure you are not pinching any wiring harnesses/etc. When transferring, make sure to seat all the injectors and then retighten the 4 8mm bolts. Once loosened, pull up gently and the injectors will pop out. Swap the fuel rail by removing the 4 8mm bolts that hold it on. They snap on to each side in three locations, and pop right off. Also you will need to swap over the bracket that holds your engine cover on, it has 2 10mm bolts. Transfer over the MAP sensor (top of intake), the brake booster line (pulls right off the back). If your new intake does not have one, pry the old one out and reuse it. You will need to transfer the top studs to the new intake you can loosen them by using a 4mm socket on the end.ĭon’t forget your throttle body gasket. Remove the throttle body from the stock intake by loosening 2 10mm bolts and 2 10mm nuts. Set your stock and aftermarket intake side by side, it will create a clear illustration of what you need to transfer over and its respective orientation. You will need to maneuver it slowly around the alternator/cylinder heads, make sure it doesn’t get hung up on anything. Remove these.ĭouble check no wiring harnesses/etc is still connected, if not, you can remove the intake. Route the hose in front of the engine harness.Īll that is left are 10 8mm bolts holding the intake on. It is best to wrap the rag on the fuel rail end so that when you are tipping the intake forward/back, more won’t spill all over.ĭisconnect the brake booster vacuum hose at the brake booster by depressing the clamp with pliers. Gas will spill out so have your rag ready. Pry off the small metal lock, and then use the fuel line disconnect tool to remove the line. ![]() Near the back of the driver’s side fuel rail you will see where the braided fuel line connects. Put your rag on top and depress the valve core with the screwdriver to release the built up fuel pressure (don’t get it in your eyes). On the passenger side fuel rail there is a cap with a Schrader valve beneath. Then push aside.Īlso remove the PCV hose going to the top of the intake. Use the flat tip screwdriver to pry the center prong of the bracket out, and the small assembly will slide out from the top. Follow the line to the side of the intake where the EVAP solenoid is mounted to a bracket. There is a small black tab on the backside of it, if you push that tab towards the right, it will pop off. On the front/top of the intake manifold is an EVAP line, remove it. Once you remove the nut, you can lay the engine harness over to the driver’s side, just make sure it is out of your way. When you are finished unplugging everything, there is a 10mm nut that holds down a plastic bracket to the top of the intake manifold. Follow the harness to the driver’s side, unplugging the MAP sensor, EVAP solenoid, plug on top of alternator, and the remaining fuel injectors & coil pack harness on the driver’s side. ![]() You will need to disconnect the fuel injectors, main coil pack connector, MAF sensor, TPS, A/C pressure sensor (down by front of cylinder head), and there is also a 15mm bolt holding a ground onto the head, remove that as well. It’s really only necessary to remove the 90 degree elbow, the rest of it can stay.īegin disconnecting the engine harness on the passenger side of the engine.
